General

Mr. Dent’s practice is focused entirely on civil litigation and insurance defense.  He represents businesses and individuals throughout the State of Texas in various matters, including premises liability, transportation litigation, employment defense, and personal injury defense.  He has handled matters through all phases of litigation, including mediation, arbitration, and trial.

Employment

Prior to joining Castagna Scott, LLP in 2012, Mr. Dent was associated with the Denver law firm of Dworkin, Chambers, Williams, York, Benson & Evans, P.C., from 2006 through 2011.  In Colorado, Mr. Dent’s practice focused on commercial litigation, employment litigation, construction defect litigation, and insurance subrogation.

Education

Mr. Dent received his J.D. from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2005.  He received a B.A. in economics from Emory University in 2001.

Bar admissions and activities

Mr. Dent is licensed to practice law in Texas and Colorado. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts in the District of Colorado and the Southern District of Texas.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Colorado Bar Association.

Personal

A fourth-generation Texan, Mr. Dent was born in Houston, Texas, and lives in Austin with his wife, his son, and his wife’s cat.
