General
Since graduating from law school, Mr. Dearth’s practice has been devoted entirely to civil defense litigation. His primary areas of concentration include: transportation, construction defect, premises liability, medical malpractice, HOA disputes and general personal injury defense. He has represented individuals and companies throughout the State of Texas, including Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Tyler, the Rio Grande Valley, El Paso and Laredo.
Mr. Dearth has represented trucking companies, drivers, professional firms, architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, health care providers and HOAs in trials, arbitrations, and mediations. As part of the Firm’s Rapid Response Team, Mr. Dearth has handled trucking cases from initial coordination of on-scene accident investigation through final resolution. He has co-authored an article published in The Transportation Lawyer, and recently was a speaker on post-injury medical treatment at the 7th Annual National Medical Liability Insurance ExecuSummit.

Employment
Prior to his association with Castagna Scott LLP, Mr. Dearth was associated with the firm of Connolly & Castagna, L.L.P., since 2007. Before that, he practiced at a defense firm in Houston, Texas, where he concentrated in transportation litigation.

Education
Mr. Dearth received his J.D. from Texas Tech University in 2005. He received his M.B.A. from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University in 2005, and his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin in 2001.

Bar admissions and activities
Mr. Dearth was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2005. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts in the Western and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association (Construction Section) and the Defense Research Institute (Trucking and Construction Sections).

Personal
Mr. Dearth was born in Huntsville, Texas. He grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (McAllen), where most of his immediate and extended family remains today. Mr. Dearth lives in Austin with his wife, daughter and two dogs.
