From the beginning…We work the trucking case from its inception. We like to inspect the accident site as soon as possible after the accident, while the physical evidence is still available. We are centrally located in the State of Texas, and thus are usually within a few hours drive of the accident site. We know and work with the region’s and the industry’s best experts to inspect the site and the vehicles. Typically, we will retain an expert and accompany him out to the accident site. This enables us to immediately assess the nature of the case. We will locate and interview witnesses, and speak with the investigating officers. We are then able to report to you and provide you with our initial impressions regarding liability and damages, the anticipated contested issues, and the risks of the case. You can then make a decision about your approach to the case: is it appropriate to attempt to settle at the early stages, or does the case appear to be defensible and should it be developed? Once you make the decision to develop and defend the case, we will aggressively pursue discovery by propounding written discovery requests to the plaintiffs, conducting background and criminal history checks, and taking depositions of key witnesses, family members, and experts. We will provide you with detailed reporting every step of the way so you are aware of all developments and the details and nuances of the case. |
